Welcome to the traditional Oaxacan street parties! In Oaxaca, Marmotas are glowing balloon-lanterns that dance at the front of street celebrations called Calendas, bringing light wherever they go and signaling to everyone nearby that a public celebration has officially begun. In this fun and creative workshop, you will build your very own marmota! You will use bright, colorful papers layered together like magic—changing the colors of the light depending on how you stack them. No experience is needed at all! Best of all, you get to carry your creation home to light up your bedroom. This colorful adventure is led by Carlos Alberto Domínguez, an artist and designer from Oaxaca who is also a true expert in kid’s workshops and loves helping kids bring big, bright ideas to life. Language: English, Spanish & Danish Requirements: None Age group: Kid-friendly, everyone welcome!
