After an unforgettable first edition, “Welcome To Burlesque” returns to Absalon for a second spectacular night in collaboration with Sweet Sensations! The Danish burlesque dance group has performed for audiences from Las Vegas to Berlin, from the DR Concert Hall to Copenhell — and now they are back to bring you more sparkle, attitude, and entertainment. On this special evening, Sweet Sensations once again invites you into the dazzling world of burlesque full of mystery, femininity, and power. Expect fierce group performances and sultry solo acts, along with loads of rhinestones, gloves, boas, feathers, and some easy, popular burlesque moves that everyone can try. Aside from the iconic opening number welcoming you all to a night of burlesque, the show features new group and solo performances never seen at Absalon before. And for the first time ever, two special guest performers from the burlesque scene will also join the evening with exclusive performances of their own. After the show, the afterparty takes over and invites everyone to the dancefloor. It is gonna be night where glamour, seduction, and surprises await in a show full of tease, sass, and humour. If you’re still wondering what exactly burlesque is, here is a very brief introduction – however, burlesque is an art form you have to experience for yourself! In burlesque, we celebrate freedom, courage and self-expression. It’s a performative blend of storytelling, sensuality and satire — where costumes, music and props combine in one theatrical experience. Performers use dance, movement, reveals and vibrant stage personas to invite you into our universe. We playfully challenge stereotypes of gender and body ideals.
